Our client, a global Architecture and Design Firm, is hiring a Graphic Design Specialist for a long-term contract role in Kansas City, Mo.
The Graphic Designer will design various digital and analog graphic design marketing collateral pieces across all market sectors to support new business pursuits and brand initiatives. They will also support public relations, marketing, and sales departments with the design and execution of print and other graphics, incorporating appropriate interpretation to meet our internal clients' communications needs.
This position will support business development pursuits and marketing teams internally to develop and deliver creative, strategic graphic solutions that are on-brand, on-time, and on-budget; including print collateral, digital deliverables, and brand identity pieces.
- Follow established quality control process.
- Demonstrate tenets of social networking and be confident in using digital tools to share digital imagery online.
- Effectively use concepts of Goals, Objectives, Strategies, and Tactics to develop graphic solutions that meet those concepts.
- Develop relationships effectively collaborate and work with a variety of team members both face to face and digitally.
- Perform research, user analysis, planning, development, and documentation of design solutions.
- Present project objectives and design at client meetings. Contribute to creative "think tank " sessions.
- Conduct research before developing design concepts.
- Demonstrate varied illustration skills, including rough sketches.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts/Graphic Design or Visual Communication along with 4 years of related experience; and a portfolio supporting that background
- OR Associate Degree in Fine Arts/Graphic Design or Visual Communication and 6 years of related experience; and a portfolio supporting that background
- Knowledge of industry-standard graphic design and layout software (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) with a comprehensive understanding of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Problem-solving skills to transform complex ideas into graphic representations.
- Utilize emerging technology with proficiency.
- Comfortable working with all levels of executives.
- Expert knowledge of color theory and color relationships.
- Understanding of good layout principles.
- Strong conceptualization skills for alternative printing, production, and packaging techniques.
- Proven track record working with complex teams and/or organizations and the ability to work effectively with virtual teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong visual proofing and error-checking skills.
- Skill in managing tight deadlines for concurrent projects with various teams.
- Ability to manage work on multiple fast-paced projects.
- Basic HTML knowledge is a plus.
